Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how TakeMe ("TakeMe", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses and protects information when you use take-me.app, create a TakeMe account, or interact with TakeMe features embedded on websites that use our service.

TakeMe is designed with privacy in mind. Our core visitor analytics do not use cookies, IP addresses, fingerprints or persistent personal identifiers. Personal information is collected only when it is required to provide a feature or when a user or visitor chooses to provide it.

Information we collect

The information we process depends on how you use TakeMe.

  • Account information: when you create a TakeMe account, we may process information such as your name, email address, account credentials, company information and workspace details.
  • Billing information: paid subscriptions are processed through our payment provider. TakeMe may receive information relating to your subscription, billing status, company details and VAT information, but does not need to store your full payment-card details.
  • Support tickets and live chat: when a visitor starts a support conversation, they may provide information such as their email address, message, screenshot and other information they choose to include. TakeMe may also associate the current page or active tutorial with the conversation to help provide context.
  • Form submissions: when a visitor submits a form created with TakeMe, we process the information entered into that form on behalf of the website owner.
  • Anonymous analytics: TakeMe may collect anonymous information such as page visits, tutorial opens, tutorial progress, completions and conversion events. These measurements are designed without cookies, IP-based identification, fingerprinting or persistent visitor identifiers.
  • Technical and site-health information: where enabled, TakeMe may process uptime information and JavaScript error information necessary to identify and diagnose technical problems.

Support, tickets and email communication

When you provide an email address through a TakeMe support ticket, live chat or support form, that email address may be used to reply to your request and to continue the conversation after you leave the website. For example, if a live-chat operator becomes unavailable, the same conversation may continue by email.

Where appropriate, the support form will explain how the email address will be used before the visitor submits it. By submitting a support request, the visitor is requesting that the website owner and TakeMe, acting on its behalf, use the provided contact information for the purpose of handling that request.

Support and transactional emails are used only to provide the requested service, such as sending ticket replies, conversation updates or a copy of a submitted form. Providing an email address for support does not automatically subscribe a visitor to marketing or promotional communications.

Custom forms

Website owners may use TakeMe to create contact, support or lead forms. The website owner determines which fields are displayed and why the information is being collected.

TakeMe processes submitted information to provide the form service, including storing the submission, notifying the website owner, sending an optional confirmation to the visitor where configured, and forwarding the submission to a webhook or other integration configured by the website owner.

Where a form requires consent or acceptance of terms, TakeMe may record that acceptance as part of the submission.

Form consent gate

TakeMe may also be used to add a consent gate to an existing form on a website. In this case, TakeMe can require the visitor to accept the website owner's terms before the form is submitted.

Where this feature is used with an existing third-party form, the acceptance information can be added directly to that website's own form. TakeMe does not need to receive the personal information contained in that form.

Cookies and consent management

TakeMe's own basic visitor analytics are designed to operate without cookies or persistent visitor tracking.

Website owners may, however, use TakeMe's tag manager and consent tools to load third-party analytics, advertising or marketing services. Those third-party services may use cookies or other technologies.

Where configured by the website owner, TakeMe can prevent non-essential tags from loading until the visitor has made the required consent choice. Visitors can also be given the ability to review or withdraw their choices.

How we use information

We process information only where necessary for legitimate and clearly defined purposes, including:

  • Providing and operating the TakeMe service;
  • Creating and managing user accounts and workspaces;
  • Delivering tutorials, support tickets, live chat and forms;
  • Sending requested service and support communications;
  • Providing anonymous visitor and conversion analytics;
  • Monitoring service reliability and diagnosing technical errors;
  • Managing subscriptions and billing;
  • Preventing abuse, spam and security incidents;
  • Complying with applicable legal obligations.

TakeMe customers and their visitors

When TakeMe is installed on a customer's website, that customer generally determines why visitor information is collected and how it is used. For information submitted through that customer's tickets, chats or forms, the website owner is generally responsible for determining the purpose of the processing, while TakeMe processes the information to provide the requested service on the customer's behalf.

Questions about why a particular website collects information through TakeMe should therefore also be directed to the owner of that website.

Sharing information

We do not sell personal information.

We may use trusted service providers where necessary to operate TakeMe, such as infrastructure, email-delivery, hosting, security and payment providers. These providers may process information only as necessary to provide their services to us and are subject to appropriate contractual and security requirements.

We may also disclose information where required by law, regulation, legal process or a valid request from a competent authority.

Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the relevant service, meet legal requirements, resolve disputes and protect the security of the platform.

Retention periods may depend on the TakeMe plan and the type of information involved. Where information is deleted in accordance with our deletion procedures, we take reasonable steps to remove it from active systems.

Data security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction.

No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security, but we continuously aim to limit the amount of personal information processed and to protect the information required to operate the service.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your information, or to object to certain processing.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before the consent was withdrawn.

External websites

Our website and services may contain links to external websites or services that are not operated by TakeMe. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies separately.

User responsibilities

Users of TakeMe agree not to use the service to conduct unlawful activities, distribute malicious software, interfere with the security or operation of TakeMe or third-party systems, or collect or process personal information in violation of applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to TakeMe, applicable law or our data-processing practices. The latest version will always be published on this page with its effective date.
